Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology was established in the year 1976. The department has a well equipped laboratory with various types of apparatus and paper-pencil tests.

Special Features:-

  • Good collection of important and useful books is with the library.
  • Poor students are given books from book bank of the department .
  • Financial support is given to the economically poor students.
  • Mostly cent-percent result is produced by the department.
  • Many students get distinction and make their place in the merit list of the university.
  • Various activities are organized like exhibition of charts and models, group discussions, training in testing of personality and preparing for interviews.
  • Educational tours are organized to visit local hospitals like Asha Niketan and organizations like Digdarshika etc

Departmental Activities (2019-20):

  • World mental health day is  celebrated every year on 10 Oct. This year the theme was suicide prevention .  On this occasion Dr.Prerna Shrivastava of Psychology department delivered a lecture on mental health and suicide prevention in the college assembly. Students of psychology department prepared posters and slogans on this theme .  A rally was also organised to spread awareness about mental health..
  • A visit to Anand Dham old age home was organised by department of Psychology on 19.12.2019 where the students get  aware about the problems of old age. They spend time with them by listening to their valuable life experiences.
  • Department organised an educational visit to Digdarshika an institute for rehabilitation and research of mentally retarded children, on 20.02.20 . Where students interacted with children and spend some time with them to get an insight into their behavior and problems.
