The above thought truly justifies the very importance and at the same time elegance and beauty of the subject mathematics. The department of mathematics right from its inception in the year 1981 has been committed to facilitate and promote the learner with all possible means to develop and improve their logical aptitude so that the misconception that mathematics is an arduous subject can be removed from the young minds. Keeping in view the growing importance of the subject the department upgraded to PG level in 2002.


Aims of the department:-

  • Imparting quality education through interactive teaching learning process.
  • To provide an environment where students can learn and become competent users of mathematics.
  • Wholesome development of the students in academics and co curricular activities.

Special Features of the department:-
  • Apart from classroom lectures provide academic guidance to weaker students personally.
  • Providing notes on various topics of the syllabus.
  • Classroom teaching and presentations by UG and PG students.
  • Apart from the enriched college library the department has an inbuilt library with more than 200 books and a book bank on various topics of Mathematics
  • One of the main highlights of the Departmental activity every year is the publication of Departmental magazine ANANT.
  • To develop the creative skills of the students and at the same time to enable them to appreciate the beauty of subject essay competition, Chart, Model, Quiz on topics related to mathematics is regularly organized.
  • The department celebrates National Mathematics day and National Science day every year.
