The Department of Sociology was established in 1975 right from the inception of College.The College runs B.A. program affiliated to Sri Sathya Sai college for Women Bhopal. The Department of SOCIOLOGY is one of the active Departments in the same college. The Department regularly organizes various academic, co-curriculum activities such as group discussion, power pint presentation, workshop, seminars and tour. The department strives hard to motivate students for various competitive Examinations. The department actively support and enlist the student for there all round development. Day by day the department is progressing ahead the dynamic faculty member, students and last but not the least the Principal of the College.

To sensitize the students on socio-economic cultural and political awareness and environment Issues in the society

Departmental Activities :

On 15 Feb 2021 Department of sociology organized a Guest Lecture on the topic women empowerment. On this Dr.Usha Vaidya. RNTU University were she explained about women empowerment which means to make women independent so that they can take their important decision of life by themselves .
Department of sociology organize a webinar on the topic Gender Sensitization and Gender equality on 30/07/21.The objective of the lecture was to raise awareness about gender equality and inclusiveity to challenge prevalent stereo types & biases in society
Extension activity was organized for the women and children of Anna nagar slum area of bhopal on 28 March 2022 by the Dept. of sociology.
Dept. of sociology organize one day camp at adopted village chhota kheda panchayat kala pani 14/12/22 student’s interacted with children and women of anganwadi Centre of were students and teacher were creating awareness
